REGULAR B.O.E. MEETING

6:00 P.M.

 

 

 

Members Present:                    William Bailey, Ronald Doris, Sue Furnish, Douglas P. Hasler, Mark Isaf, and Tom Tuttle

 

 

Members Absent:                    Thomas Davis

 

 

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of Paris Union School District No. 95 was held on Monday, July 13, 2009, 6:00 P.M. at the Superintendent’s Office, members having received proper notice thereof.

 

I.          Vice President Hasler called the regular meeting to order.

 

II.        Roll Call:         Above

 

III        Audience to Visitors: 

 

Carol Jones announced the preliminary ISAT scores have been released and that Wenz scores were very good and that they met AYP in all areas. Mrs. Sutton also announced that Mayo’s ISAT scores were also very good, meeting in all areas for AYP.  

 

IV.             Consent Agenda:       

 

Member Doris moved and Member Bailey seconded to approve the Consent Agenda as presented.

 

Vice President Hasler polled the Board with the following results:

 

Ayes:   (6)        Isaf, Tuttle, Bailey, Doris, Furnish, and Hasler

 

Nays:   (0)        None, and the motion carried.

VI.             Superintendent’s Agenda:

 

Member Doris moved and Member Bailey seconded to approve the employment of Dana Craffets as an elementary teacher at Wenz School for the 2009-2010 school year.

 

Vice President Hasler polled the Board with the following results:

 

Ayes:   (6)        Isaf, Tuttle, Bailey, Doris, Furnish, and Hasler

 

Nays:   (0)        None, and the motion carried.

 

Member Doris moved and Member Hasler seconded to the elementary student and faculty handbooks for the 2009-2010 school year.

 

Vice President Hasler polled the Board with the following results:

 

Ayes:   (6)        Isaf, Tuttle, Bailey, Doris, Furnish, and Hasler

 

Nays:   (0)        None, and the motion carried.

 

Member Tuttle moved and Member Hasler seconded to approve the milk bid from Prairie Farms, the bread bid from Interstate Brands, and grocery bids from Fox River Foods, B & B Foods, and Hawkeye Foodservice for the 2009-2010 school year.

 

Vice President Hasler polled the Board with the following results:

 

Ayes:   (6)        Isaf, Tuttle, Bailey, Doris, Furnish, and Hasler

 

Nays:   (0)        None, and the motion carried.

 

Member Doris moved and Member Furnish seconded to approve the food service contracts with ERBA Headstart and St. Mary’s School for the 2009-2010 school year.

 

Vice President Hasler polled the Board with the following results:

 

Ayes:   (6)        Isaf, Tuttle, Bailey, Doris, Furnish, and Hasler

 

Nays:   (0)        None, and the motion carried.

 

Member Tuttle moved and Member Bailey seconded to approve Scott Dosch and TJ Dosch (volunteer) for baseball and Kori Smith, Dan Gates, and Brian Knoepfel as track coaches at Mayo Middle School for the 2009-2010 school year.

 

Vice President Hasler polled the Board with the following results:

 

Ayes:   (6)        Isaf, Tuttle, Bailey, Doris, Furnish, and Hasler

 

Nays:   (0)        None, and the motion carried.

 

Sam Roberts reported on the Mayo playground project, the ceilings were completed at Memorial and Wenz Schools, and the roof is near completion at Mayo School. He informed the board that a Building Committee meeting has been scheduled for July 15th at 10:00 a.m.

Member Doris moved and Member Bailey seconded that the meeting adjourn. All members voted in the affirmative and the meeting stood adjourned at 6:32 P.M.
